Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon to Honor Grammy Award Singer and 7-time Tony Award-Winning Actress at Annual Gala
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, Mount Vernon, NY – The Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon (BGCMV) will honor Grammy Award singer, songwriter and 7-time Tony Award-winning actress Stephanie Mills at their Annual Fall Gala on Thursday, March 26th at the VIP Country Club in New Rochelle, N.Y. Mills rose to stardom as Dorothy in the original 7-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Wiz, and her song “Home” from the show became a #1 R&B hit.
The Club will also introduce their BGCMV 2026–2027 Youth of the Year and honor Brother Arthur Muhammad, Joe Solomine Sr., and Marion Archer, in memoriam, the founder of Mount Vernon-based Revelators Dance Troupe.
“We are pleased and proud to present our annual awards to a truly special group of honorees this year, who represent leaders from our past, present and future,” said Mel Campos, Chief Executive Officer, Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon. “It is very gratifying to see the tradition of mentorship continue today through the involvement of our Board, our Youth of the Year, and the people who have been there to support us when we needed them over the years.”

The event will include a celebration of the honorees, a performance by the Revelators Dance Troupe, dinner, and both silent and live auctions designed for additional donations.
